Founder and Author Kelsey LaVigne

Kelsey LaVigne is the author of “All In: An Educator’s Manual for Winning Hearts, Minds, and High Performance by Intentionally Leading School Culture” and the founder of Figment Solutions, a school culture consultancy. LaVigne helps schools to intentionally align and uplift the core elements of their unique vision through every part of their school program and culture- communications, daily schedules, banner events, visuals, elements of curriculum, talent practices, etc. She delivers workshops and trainings on concepts from her culture-building framework, partnering with sector innovators such as Charter School Growth Fund, the New York City Charter School Center, and more.

LaVigne’s experience in practical leadership, team development and strategic thinking was honed at Brilla Schools, the pioneering public charter-school network in the Bronx. As a founding administrator, then principal, and ultimately chief of schools / superintendent, LaVigne led Brilla’s growth from one school to five, built on a vision of “all in” staff and family involvement in support of student achievement. Brilla became revered for its intentional school culture and strong outcomes.

LaVigne began her career as a math teacher at Uncommon Schools under the umbrella of Teach for America, where she also served as an Instructional Coach and Culture Lead. She has participated in the Successor Prep Program and Leadership Design Fellowship with KIPP Foundation. She holds a master’s degree in Education from Hunter College and a bachelor’s in Business Administration, with an emphasis in leadership development, from the University of Southern California.
